Don’t be afraid
of winter’s cold breath,
She said,
for I have felt the coldest
of the cold,
and lain in snow
under a sky so dark,
embellished with
the brightest dots,
and the magical wisps
of the Sky Fox’s tail
dancing up above,
in green and blue.
So peaceful
it was,
She said,
that winter kept
its frozen fingers
underground,
down below, and
warmly watched it with me.
